The Koru–Tohorā is deeply rooted in Māori culture, symbolising strength, speed, protection, and good fortune. According to legend, the first person to arrive in New Zealand was carried on the back of a whale, safely arriving at their new home. This symbol is commonly found in Māori carvings.

Flower Jade (Marsden Jade) is a New Zealand greenstone known for its distinctive golden-yellow-orange patterns, also called "putiputi" (flower in Māori).

Over time it develops these colours through weathering, as minerals enter the stone in rivers and create its signature golden patterns, found in stones ranging from light inanga to dark kawakawa.
